Probably one of the most useful features of the Oddsmonkey platform comes from the Oddsmatcher tool. This saves literally thousands of hours in matching and placing bets.

By scanning every bookmaker and every betting exchange, the Oddsmatcher compiles a list of the closet odds, giving you the best bets in terms of liability and minimising qualifying losses. The Oddsmonkey oddsmatcher tool also works out the calulations for you weather it be qualifying bets, free bets, risk free bets and also places exchange bets for you!

Read on to learn more about the details of how the Oddsmonkey Oddsmatcher tool can help you.

Minimise Qualifying Losses

The Oddsmatcher tool makes finding trigger bets very quick and easy. Usually, one would have to manually search for trigger bets at both the bookmaker and the exchange which can be extremely time consuming; we’d need to firstly find a game that had low odds, then compare those odds at the exchange (or sometimes multiple exchanges) to make sure they are the best, then work out the trigger bet and liability through the use of complicated calculations before even placing the bet!

With the Oddsmatcher tool, we can automatically scrape odds from both the bookmaker and mutliple exchanges to find the best odds for your bets.

Watch the video below for an example of how to use the Oddsmatcher to find trigger bets.

You will see I have filtered by my chosen bookmaker (in this case Coral) and it has brought up all the highest qualifying trigger bets ranking from highest matches to lowest matches. When placing a trigger bet you want as close a match as possible, preferably 98%+ to reduce the our qualifying losses. You will also want to make sure the odds are within the range that’s allowed for your chosen offer so be sure to check that in the T&C.

If you click the “i” icon next to the rating column you will see further details pop up with a calculator allowing you to work out your trigger bet. In all cases for trigger bets you want to make sure NORMAL or Qualifier/Arb is selected for the calculator. In the above example I:

  • Enter the back bet amount into the calculator
  • Back odds and lay odds are already provided
  • Once you have entered the above information, the calculations are already worked out, giving you your lay amount to match the provided qualifying loss.

Maximising Profits

Once we have our free bets, we want to maximise the profit that the free bet can provide. How much profit we can extract from a free bet depends on a) a close match, and b) high odds (ideally anything greater than 4). If we follow the above guidelines we should be able to extract approximately 70% profit from our free bets (or £7 for every £10).

The most commonly used feature used for working out free bets is the SNR column which means ‘stake not returned’. To activate this column you’ll need to click settings and make sure the ‘Show [Stake Not Returned %] column’ box is ticked. Once the Oddsmatcher has been refreshed you’ll get the best matches to maximise matched betting profits!

Watch the video below for an example of how to use the Oddsmatcher to find close free ‘stake not returned’ matches.

You will see I have filtered by my chosen bookmaker (in this case Coral) and it has brought up all the highest ‘stake not returned’ matches from highest matched to lowest matches. When placing a free bet you want as close a match as possible to maximise our profits.

If you click the icon next to the rating column you will see further details pop up with a calculator allowing you to work out your free bet profit returns. Make sure ‘SNR’ is selected from the tab. In the above example I:

  • Enter the free bet amount into the calculator
  • Back odds and lay odds are already provided
  • Once you have entered the above information, the calculations are already worked out, giving you the profit return for the above free bet.

Saving Time & A Better ‘Hourly Wage’

The worst thing you can do as a matched bettor is spend all day ‘doing offers’ to realise that you have only made all of £20. Highly inefficient, but can easily happen.

This is why it is extremely important make the use of tools available to speed up the process, and also find ways to streamline YOUR process

The Oddsmonky Oddsmatcher has a very useful feature where it can actually lay the bet for us when placing our bets. This feature is available on the main bookmakers Smarkets and Betfair and can make your process much more efficient.

Watch the video below for an example of how to use the Oddsmatcher to lay your bets.

Let’s assume I’m looking for a trigger bet from Coral; I will follow the below process.

  • Direct your browser to the Oddsmatcher and select Coral from the drop down
  • A list of bets come up from Coral
  • Click on the “i” icon for my chosen bet
  • Enter the stakes for the bet I wish to place
  • The lay amount is automatically populated
  • Press lay bet and the process is complete

Please note you must place your back bet manually, and it is best to do this BEFORE laying the bet.

Also before this feature will be activated, you will need to link your current account to the Oddsmonkey platform. This can be done in the settings of your account.

Using The Filter To Place Quick Bets

As a user you have the ability to specify exactly the kind of bets we want to display, anything from the bookmakers, to exchanges and sports, when the events are taking place and odds selection.

For reoccurring offers you can also save your settings for future use which can save a lot of time.

For example I may have an offer that requires me to wager a £200 bonus three times before being able to withdraw, so I’d ideally want to look for low cost trigger bets.

Watch the video below for an example of how to use the Oddsmatcher to filter your results.

So for the above example I want to consider what I want to achieve when it comes to completing my wagering requirements.

  • Bet on football
  • See the bets only from the bookmaker (in this case Ladbrokes)
  • I only have an Smarkets account, so want to lay my bets with Smarkets
  • Keep my qualifying losses low and for this reason only want close matches.
  • Minimum odds requirement of 2.0 for the offer.

Once I have applied all these options I will select ‘apply filter’ and a list will populate with the desired results.

Once you have applied this filter the next time you need to place a bet with the same requirements, we can save the settings. This is very useful for reoccurring offers such as the weekly bet clubs that Coral and Skybet do on a regular basis.

Quickly Search For Events

If you have a situation where, for example, the offer was on a Chelsea v Fulham game, with the Oddsmatcher we have the ability to search for that specific event to place bets on.

Simply put ‘Chelsea v Fulham’ into the search bar, press apply filter and results will come up just related to that game.

This saves a lot of time in trying to scroll for the event when there are some times 100s of events on at any one time.

Place Bets And Make Cash On The Go

Don’t currently have a computer to start matched betting? No problem! As Oddsmonkey and the Oddsmatcher tool can be run from your mobile device.

Oddsmatcher for mobile

The mobile tool contains all the functionality of the points I made above but just more suited to mobile whether that be Android or iPhone. You’ll even be able to matched bet at the pub!

Conclusion

This is where I like to provide a TL;DR version of this post. Essentially the Oddsmatcher tool boosts income and reduces time. Whats not to like about that!?

If you haven’t already I’d highly recommend you check out Oddsmonkey which you can do here
